HEAT RESISTANCE UNDER LOAD TEST

A 1 inch by 8 inch by 3/16 inch carbon fiber specimen was exposed to temperatures above 300 degrees Fahrenheit in a 3-point pressure configuration.
Over 40 pounds of load was applied unto the specimen by a 1/4 inch diameter mandrel.

The beam distortion was measured and yielded less than 5% from the horizontal plane orientation of the specimen.

Note the color distortion of the specimen where the heat was concentrated.
The maximum heat exposure of the specimen that was exposed to was over 475°F.

The specimen were then cured for 2 hours prior to testing.

Please read our Cold Weather Notice to be aware of the colder temperatures dynamic affect on any polymer system.
